The Escor group is expected to take the reins of the new Swiss casino which should open in 2013 in La Tene. This group is to invest 6.5 million euros to have a casino built but nothing is yet certain. In fact the opening procedure is long and the Escor group is going to have to be patient. First of all, the federal council must give its agreement for the validation of this project and an answer should be given before March 2010. If there is agreement, the Federal Casino Commission (CMFJ) will examine the files and give its opinion to the federal council. It goes without saying that this process will take months before the Escor group is assured of being able to open its casino. This casino should create almost 100 jobs and the commune should earn no less than 300,000 euros in annual tax receipts.

It could be that this casino project will be linked to the Ibis hotel which plans on expanding and therefore the road layouts could be carried out so that the casino and the hotel would benefit. But it will be a long road for the participants in this project which will bring a breath of fresh air to the commune's coffers and which will be a source of job creation for the region. Also the hotel's clients will have access to an interesting panel of casino games in particular slot machines and traditional games.

One must wait a few more months to know if the Escor group will get all the guarantees from the federal council which is supported by the Neuchatel Council of State. To be continued.
